Grace Refuge Recovery is a Christian co-ed sober living home in Riverside, California. We welcome men and women who are serious about long-term sobriety and rebuilding their lives through faith, accountability, and community.
We're a co-ed home for both men and women in recovery. Men and women have separate bedrooms, and entering a bedroom of the opposite sex isn't permitted — the one exception is married couples, who may room together.
No. Grace Refuge Recovery is a faith-based sober living home — a supportive, structured place to live alongside others in recovery. We are not a medical detox facility or a licensed treatment center, and we don't provide medical or clinical care. Residents should be past the detox stage and able to live substance-free when they move in. If you or your loved one still needs to detox, that has to happen first in a medical setting — call or text us at (951) 616-8509 and we're glad to help point you toward the right resources.
Grace Refuge is a faith-centered home, and our daily rhythms include things like devotional time, prayer, and church attendance. You don't need to have everything figured out spiritually, but you should be open to taking part in the Christian community here.
Yes — you keep your own phone. Staying connected to your family, your sponsor, and your job is part of rebuilding your life, so we're not in the business of taking that away.
Yes. Every resident submits to three scheduled drug tests each week and may also be tested at random. Any drug or alcohol use — or refusing a test — is grounds for discharge.
Yes. Residents work a 12-step program, obtain a sponsor, and attend at least three outside meetings each week. Group meetings and house meetings are also part of life here and are mandatory.
Curfew is 10:00 PM Sunday through Thursday, and 11:00 PM on Friday and Saturday. If you're going to be late, call the manager with as much notice as possible.
Yes, with approval. Visitors are approved by management ahead of time, stay in the downstairs common areas or backyard (never upstairs), and leave at least one hour before curfew.
We're honest about how hard recovery is. As our House Expectations make clear, drug or alcohol use isn't permitted and is grounds for discharge — but a setback doesn't have to be the end of your journey. If you're struggling, talk to the house manager before it becomes a relapse, and we'll help point you toward the right next step.
