Sending Someone You Love
Everything you want to know before your loved one moves in — what this home is, how visits and calls work, and the structure that holds it all together.
Everything you want to know before your loved one moves in — what this home is, how visits and calls work, and the structure that holds it all together.
Grace Refuge Recovery is a faith-based sober living home — a supportive, structured place to live alongside others in recovery. We are not a medical detox facility or a licensed treatment center, and we don't provide medical or clinical care. Your loved one must be substance free when they move in. If they still need to detox, that has to happen first in a medical setting — call or text us at (951) 616-8509 and we're glad to help point you toward the right resources.
Visits are encouraged and approved ahead of time
Outside visitors must be approved by management before coming by.
Visitors are welcomed
Visitors are welcomed downstairs in the common areas or backyard — bedrooms upstairs are private.
Visits wrap up before curfew
Visitors are asked to leave at least an hour before curfew, so the evening can wind down.
Your loved one keeps their own phone. Staying connected to family, a sponsor, and a job is part of rebuilding a life, so we're not in the business of taking that away.
Regular drug and alcohol testing
Multiple random drug tests every week.
Meetings and a 12-step program
Residents work a 12-step program, get a sponsor, and attend at least three outside meetings each week, along with mandatory house and group meetings.
Honest about setbacks
Drug or alcohol use isn't permitted and is grounds for discharge — but a setback doesn't have to be the end of the journey. We encourage residents to get support before it becomes a relapse.
We know sending someone you love into a new home is a big step. We're happy to talk through anything before they apply, or anytime after.
